CORPORATE PRAYER
“Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.” - Matthew 18:19 NKJV
The body of Christ is a powerful force when we join together in prayer. There is strength in our unity and the Bible tells us that while one can put a thousand to flight, two can put ten thousand to flight (Deuteronomy 32:30). When we touch and agree according to His Word and will in prayer, we can confidently expect Him to answer and move on our behalf.
Several years ago while working at a hospital, I contracted a staph infection in my leg. After months of treatment at a wound clinic, the infection did not heal and I contracted another infection. This infection was life threatening and required me to undergo very painful and expensive IV treatment therapy. In faith, I called a prayer meeting in my home and had my believing friends join me in agreement to pray for a miracle in my body.
The prayer meeting was nothing flashy or extravagant; just a small group of ladies coming together to pray to the God Who heals, trusting and believing that I could and would receive a miracle in my body. At my next appointment, they looked at my leg and pronounced that I no longer had any infection in my leg. I was sent to a specialist who verified my prognosis and prayed with me before I was released completely from the medical system for my condition.
We cannot take for granted the privilege we have to come together with other like-minded people of faith and pray on behalf of one another, our churches, communities and world. I encourage you to host prayer nights, find ones to attend or simply call others on the phone to pray with and for each other. Our prayers move mountains, and we can move a lot more of them when we unite together.
Prayer Declaration:
I will join together with other believers to pray, believing that God answers when we touch and agree concerning anything. I will walk in unity with my brothers and sisters in Christ and pray with and for them. I believe there is power in coming together to pray and I will be intentional to participate in corporate prayer.
